Federal Law No. 86, “On Amendments in the Federal Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals and Specific Legal Acts of the Russian Federation”
On July 1st, 2010, Federal Law No. 86, “On Amendments in the Federal Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals and Specific Legal Acts of the Russian Federation” came into effect. The AEB took an active part in preparing comments and proposals that helped shape the Federal Law, which simplifies the procedure of attracting high skill working force to the Russian Federation. It is in line with this that the Association of European Business would like to sincerely thank the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, the Federal Migration Service and other government agencies of the Russian Federation who took part in the development and discussion process for their direct dialogue with representatives of the European business community (whose interest the AEB represents) throughout the development of the Federal Law. We support making these amendments to the Russian migration laws; this is a positive sign for international investment companies, as this substantially facilitates the attraction of skilled foreign professionals to Russia.
Dr. Frank Schauff, the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of European Businesses, adds “This can be a decisive step towards the modernization of the Russian economy”.
The Association of European Businesses is ready in the future to take part in discussions with regard to improving the investment climate in the Russian Federation.
