AEB report on licensing of products with ozone-depleting substances presented at the climate exhibition

26.02.2025

On February 26, 2025, Pavel Rudyakov, Chairman of the AEB Household Appliances Manufacturers Committee, presented a report on "Licensing of products with ozone-depleting substances. Process optimization" at a round table held as part of the 20th international specialized exhibition of air conditioning, ventilation, heating and refrigeration systems " World Climate ".

At the round table, participants discussed the problems of obtaining licenses for products containing freons, which the EAEU legislation classifies as ozone-depleting substances. In addition, possible ways to simplify the licensing procedure in Russia were discussed, as well as the prerequisites for its cancellation for products containing mono-substances, due to the lack of international obligations to license products. The obligation to control imports applies only to freons in cylinders.

Participants noted positive changes in legislation related to the abolition of licensing of products containing mixed freons at the beginning of 2025, which at the end of 2024 caused significant problems in the import of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
