On February 13, 2025, Pavel Rudyakov, Chairman of Home Appliance Manufacturers Committee, and Alexey Soldatov, Chairman of the Committee for Product Conformity Assessment, presented the position of the AEB at a meeting of the EEC Working group on the draft amendments to the Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (TR EAEU 037/2016). Following the meeting, the final text of the amendments will be sent for public discussion.

The participants discussed the important changes proposed in the draft mentioned below:

 

• an extension of the transitional periods from 6 to 12 months,
• the use of schemes 8d and 9d, allowing the applicant to submit copies of documentation as provided by GOST EN 50581 as supporting materials,
• the cancellation of the mandatory use of accredited certification bodies for registration of declarations.
