On February 26, 2025, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) hosted a joint open event at the AEB Conference Center, organized by the AEB Insurance and Pensions Committee and the Legal Committee. The event focused on current issues in insuring "specific" risks and claims settlement.
 

The program featured presentations by leading experts in the fields of insurance and law. The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Ekaterina Erova, Chair of the AEB Legal Committee, and Marina Sotova, Chair of the AEB Insurance and Pensions Committee.

During the first session, Irina Somova, Director of the Claims Settlement Department at Turicum Insurance Company and Vadim Mikhnevich, Director of Financial Lines Insurance at Zetta Insurance,  discussed directors' and officers' liability insurance, as well as cyber risk insurance. The experts presented types of coverage, real-world practices, and the latest trends in these areas.

The second session featured Viktor Petrov and Dmitry Lysenko, attorneys and partners in the dispute resolution practice at Melling, Voitishkin & Partners, who highlighted current trends in insurance claims settlement, sharing their experience and recommendations.

The third session focused on new opportunities and advantages of arbitration (alternative dispute resolution) in the insurance sector. Maria Krasnova, Partner at KIAP Law Firm and Deputy Chair of the Specialized Insurance Disputes Panel at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Arbitration Center, discussed modern approaches to resolving disputes in the insurance industry.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss the most pressing issues.
