Russia Signs a Contract with Hungary to Supply Sputnik V Vaccine

Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Budapest have signed a contract to supply Sputnik V to Hungary.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health after the meeting of Minister Mikhail Murashko with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó who is currently on a visit to Moscow. 

In addition, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said the country's authorities are planning to build a vaccine production plant in the Hungarian city of Debrecen, Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said in his blog.


Hungary was the first in the European Union to approve the use of the Russian Sputnik V and registered it under an accelerated procedure. Similar plans were announced in the UAE, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay and Turkmenistan. In addition, it is registered in Belarus.
