Hamilton Standard-Nauka, CJSC is completing construction of scientific and industrial enterprise in Kimry, Trerskaya Region

August 2011, Moscow – Hamilton Standard-Nauka, a leading Russian manufacturer for commercial aircraft air management system heat exchangers, is planning to put into operation its facility in Kimry, Tver Region by October 2011.

The construction of this new facility is the second phase of HS-Nauka’s investment plan to expand production capacity, launched initially in 2007. The first phase was completed in 2008 with a leased site SOP in Kimry. Phase one provided the necessary increase of production capacity and is an enabler to a smooth transition to the permanent site. For the last two years the leased Kimry facility has been preparing highly-qualified experts for further production growth.

The decision to expand HS-Nauka’s Moscow facility, which has been operating since 1995, was due to increased production demand driven by large international programs, like the Boeing 787 and Airbus А380, as well as from the Russian aviation industry.

HS-Nauka facilities, including the new Kimry site, will design and develop a number of Integrated Air Management System heat exchanger components for the Russian MC-21 aircraft. Hamilton Sundstrand and NPO Nauka were selected for this hardware during MAKS-2009. The new Kimry production complex, constructed in compliance with LEED requirements, is equipped with state–of-the-art equipment using advanced lean manufacturing processes and is expected to become one of the world’s leading aircraft heat exchanger design and development centers.

This investment project was backed up by the Tver Region and Kimry administrations and is of significant social and economic importance to the region. The project will create 350 jobs in Kimry and ensure new tax proceeds for the region and municipal government. The overall investments in the complex will reach over 500 million rubles.
