MOSCOW – 27 August 2012 – The 5* Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora hotel has always been known for providing world-class facilities and impeccable service. As part of the ongoing commitment to keep up the highest standards of one of the best hotels in Moscow, the next stage of the project to renovate and upgrade the public areas of the Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora has been completed.

Last year the lobby bar space on the first floor was considerably revitalized and a new automatic revolving door was installed. The delightful Ballroom, conference and meeting facilities on the second floor as well as the award-winning Polo Club steak house were all renovated and now have a fresh and enhanced look.

This year the Executive Lounge, the all-day dining Aurora restaurant and the fitness center were renovated. Now with this makeover completed, all the public spaces, comprising 30 percent of the hotel total area have been refreshed and revitalized.
The Executive Lounge, very much appreciated by discerning business travelers, provides more personalized and professional service by the dedicated team of butlers, a unique service to the hotel. The Lounge offers a calming atmosphere to work, meet or relax. Light meals, snacks and drinks are served throughout the day.  There is a working area and a boardroom for private meetings for the business-minded as well.

Says Director of Operations Francois Morvan: “Our main aim was to further upgrade the service in the executive lounge and to make the atmosphere even more comfortable. For this we decided to make zoning more pronounced here –   we invite guests to four loosely separated zones in two spacious rooms.”
Every area of the executive lounge has been adapted to better suit the purpose of that zone. In the dining zone the new tables are higher and the chairs are ideal for enjoying breakfast and light meals. The working zone, which was also extended, has several desks and computers with complimentary Internet access, printing and fax machines. The library was modified as well to become more stylish and inviting, with new alternate leather and fabric-upholstered chairs and modern floor lamps.
The subdued cream, beige and green color scheme is complimented by the furniture, manufactured in Spain, which has a mix of fabrics– from velvet to satin and leather. The air conditioning system was upgraded, with individual climate control installed for each zone. Access to the Executive Lounge, which costs  3,500.00 Russian Rubles per day, includes full buffet breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day, access to a completely renovated Executive Boardroom for up to 10 people, the freedom to invite two guests daily as well as a complimentary shoeshine service once a day  and a glass of welcome champagne on arrival.

The all-day dining Aurora restaurant, home to popular Sunday brunches, is located in a stunning 7-floor atrium with a glass ceiling which makes it airy and light all year round. The seating area was slightly extended to accommodate 20 more guests. The new buffet line with a new glass-covered top is separated from the restaurant’s sitting area by a beautiful marble floor. The restaurant looks very modern and stylish with dark wood furniture made from American oak, lively fabric and leather upholstery varying from light mustard to black, sandy and beige stripes. The central area features a nice casual zone with a table and comfortable sofas around it, which adds an additional informal touch to the restaurant, home to daily breakfasts and business lunches. The new carpet’s dark marine, caramel and beige colors are consistent with the general color scheme of the restaurant.

The hotel’s 24-hour fitness center was renovated earlier this year. The 600-square meters centre had it’s “wet zones” totally redone. The saunas were re-paneled in African abash hardwood and the gym received many new pieces of equipment with 60 percent of cardio equipment being replaced. A new EXPRESSO FITNESS Cycling machine, for example, offers more than 30 virtual cycling tours. It enables virtual races online with up to 16 participants across the globe.

The first comments after the renovation are extremely encouraging. “I have stayed at a different hotel in Moscow during my last three visits, but until I found the Marriott Royal Aurora I felt unsettled and in search of better accommodations. I have found my hotel in Moscow, the search is over”, was one of the most recent guest comments on the popular TripAdvisor forum.

Says General Manager Bert Fol: “All of our efforts are focused on upgrading our guests’ experiences, whether that is continuing to offer a wider range of services, ever higher levels of service or upgraded facilities. With the latest renovation works completed we are confident that our guests will enjoy our new facilities”.

The Marriott Moscow Royal Aurora was built in 1999 by Mospromstroi  construction  company.
