The AEB is pleased to invite you to take part in the open event “Cost prediction standards” organized by the AEB Real Estate Committee.

The event will be held on 4 February 2021 from 15:00 to 16:30 on ZOOM online platform.

Today, we witness an unprecedented pace and scope of change, not least due to the societal and economic impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic that began in early 2020. This requires us all to think strategically about where to focus and deploy our know-how and resources.

Recent research by the World Economic Forum has shown that both the design and construction process can be improved by using international standards to gain comparable and consistent data.

In this regard the International Construction Measurement Standards (ICMS), which is a global standard for benchmarking and reporting of construction project cost, both with capital and whole life costing covered, seems particularly interesting. Since its first edition in July 2017, the ICMS have provided a single high-level methodology, structure and format for grouping, classifying, measuring, recording, analysing and presenting construction and other life-cycle costs.

The institution of RICS works with ICMS and generally performs as a standard setter, regulator, educator, and global professional body, delivering confidence to governments, markets, and the public,acting thereby as a force for positive social impact.

During our event, we will have a opportunity to touch upon the following topics:

1) structure and implementation of ICMS;

2) key principles of the RICS cost prediction professional statement;

3) the role of quantity surveyor in the construction projects, especially in Russia;

4) opportunities and challenges re: cost prediction standards in Russia.
