Economic ties between the European Union (EU) and Russia have flourished over the past 25 years despite all economic crisis and political stand-offs. Sharing a common continent, joint history and tight cultural proximity have helped develop a fruitful economic cooperation and create multiple business opportunities in various spheres and industries.
However, recent political and economic developments are putting a strain over the EU-Russia relationship and might well become a turning point, casting a shadow over possible cooperation in fields such as climate change, the Artic or 5-G technologies. In addition, the full extent of the impact of the current public health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is still unclear, and its long-term repercussions are difficult to underestimate, but could well leave both Moscow and Brussels in a weaker position in the post-COVID-19 world order. How the EU and Russia can overcome current obstacles and how European businesses may help unlock the present situation, these are the issues that particularly worry European investors.
To answer those questions, we would like to invite you to connect to an exclusive online briefing by Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for AEB Members.
The event will take place on Monday 5 October 2020 from 12:00 until 13:00, Moscow time (UTC +3).
The link to connect will be sent out at a later stage to all AEB Members.
The online translation of the briefing in English and Russian will be freely accessible to all AEB Members without prior registration.
