The AEB Customs Committee together with the Delegation of the European Union to Russia are pleased to invite you to participate an online meeting dedicated to the EU'S new Import Control System 2.

The event will be held online on June 11, 2021, from 11:00 till 12:30 via Zoom.

On 15 March 2021, the European Union (EU) launched a new customs pre-arrival security and safety programme, underpinned by a large-scale advance cargo information system – Import Control System 2 (ICS2).

The new programme will support effective risk-based customs controls whilst facilitating free flow of legitimate trade across the EU external borders. It will remodel the existing process in terms of IT, legal, customs risk management / controls and trade operational perspectives. Updating the EU’s import control system will require logistics companies and importers to accommodate their practices to the new requirements.

There are three release dates of ICS2: 15 March 2021, 1 March 2023 and 1 March 2024 with each phase ICS2 will be rolled-out to more transport and cargo modes.

This meeting is aimed at providing information to companies on how the new system functions and what will happen and when. Representatives from the European Commission will be able to answer to the participants’ questions on ICS2.
