The Association of European Businesses is pleased to invite you to a briefing by Maxim Topilin, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

The event will take place on Friday, 9 February 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 (registration starts at 09:15) at the Hotel Ararat Park Hyatt, hall Sargsyan, ul. Neglinnaya, 4.

The briefing will be conducted in Russian; English simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

Maxim Topilin, born on 19 April, 1967 in Moscow.

- Since 1994, he occupied various posts in the Russian Government. His professional duties included issues of evaluating the level of development of labor-management relations, employment, migration and social policy.

- In 2001 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

- In April 2004 he became Head of the newly formed Federal Service for Labor and Employment (Rostrud).

- In 2008, he was appointed as Deputy Minister of Health Care and Social Development of the Russian Federation. As Deputy Minister, he was responsible for issues of national labor market policy, and social and demographic policy.

- Mr. Topilin directly participated in the development of the 2011-2015 state program "Friendly environment" aimed at the improvement of the quality of life for people with disabilities.

- On 21 May, 2012, Mr. Topilin was appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation. The following issues fall within his competence: labor-management relations, employment, demographic policy, social protection, social security, including retirement security, and state civil service. The key tasks the Ministry is faced include improvement of the Russian pension system, building a friendly environment for people with disabilities in Russia, promotion of employment, and wage increase in the country, including public sector workers.
