While Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors became a discussion topic for business long before the events of 2020, the recent economic and social disruptions exacerbated by COVID-19 have made clear the urgency of shifting from discussion to action, as astute business leaders look to become more resilient and reimagine a better future with ‘Sustainability’ at the core of their business models. The value of ESG has come into a much sharper focus of companies across the world and it is already prompting seismic changes in behaviors of business leaders. Furthermore, the low-carbon economy transformation topic currently presents a significant challenge – and an opportunity – for businesses to place ESG and sustainability at the heart of future plans and to accelerate the pace of change. A particular example are energy and power companies that are well-positioned to lead the efforts of driving the "E" in ESG, through incorporating sustainability and renewable energy solutions into their value chains.
In light of this, the AEB Safety, Health, Environment and Security Committee is organising a webinar titled “DOING WELL BY DOING GOOD: PERSPECTIVES ON ESG DEVELOPMENTS IN RUSSIA”, which will be held on February 18th, 2021, at 10:00 – 12:00.
We are pleased to invite you to this open event aimed at:
• Exploring the concept of ESG and the potential long-term competitive advantages and rewards that it can bring to businesses operating in Russia;
• Discussing the topic of renewable energy development in Russia and its role in driving the clean energy and sustainable development agenda.
