On March 25, 2021, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association of European Businesses was held in hybrid format in Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow.
The meeting was chaired by Fredrik Svensson, Deputy Chairman of the Council of National
Representation (CNR), who made a welcome speech.
The AGM was addressed by a keynote speaker, H.E. Markus Ederer, Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation, who told about the current challenges of EU-Russia relations.
At the AGM were presented reports on:
- AEB strategic outlook (by Johan Vanderplaetse, Chairman of the AEB Board);
- AEB business and finance report for 2019 and 2020 (by Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO);
- Audition Commission report (by Rene Pischel, Chairman of the AC)
- Restated Charter, the adoption of which became the main topic of the meeting.
The draft Charter submitted for member approval at the upcoming AGM has been revised under the following considerations and principles:
a) ensure statutory compliance with latest Russian legislation;
b) allow maximum flexibility and freedom for AEB activities;
c) keep governance culture and traditions embodied in the current charter.
The members approved by the majority of votes all the items of the AGM agenda.
The Annual General Meeting was followed by a Reception.
