On November 2-4, 2022, the AEB delegation attended the Second Uzbekistan Economic Forum in Samarkand.

The main goal of the visit was to get acquainted with the investment potential of Uzbekistan, as well as to discuss specific steps for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and expansion of business relations between Uzbek and European businesses. 

International experts discussed within the forum practical steps Uzbekistan is taking to build the economy of tomorrow, including the tools and goals of financial market development, trade, connectivity, and industry policy, enabling the business environment and unleashing the potential of infrastructure development. 

Apart from the Forum the AEB in cooperation with Europe-Uzbekistan Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ) has organized the workshop “Doing business in Uzbekistan”, where the representatives of the Agency for Foreign Investment Promotion under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research, as well as businesses operating in Uzbekistan discussed the promotion of foreign investment in Uzbekistan, economic and legislative environment and shared their practical experience. 

Also, a number of meetings were held with Uzbek authorities - Minister for the development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan for financial and economic issues and poverty reduction.
