AEB CEO spoke about the policy of protectionism and the prospects for introducing a circular economy in Russia on St.Petersburg Economic Forum

On May 25, 2018, AEB CEO Frank Schauff  made reports on the panel discussions ECONOMIC PROTECTIONISM AND GLOBAL MARKETS and CIRCULAR ECONOMY: THE RUSSIAN MODEL AND FOREIGN EXPERIENCE during St. Petersburg Economic Forum.


The participants in the panel session ECONOMIC PROTECTIONISM AND GLOBAL MARKETS discussed the main causes of current trade conflicts, as well as the steps that major players in the economy can take to prevent a full-scale trade war.

In addition to Dr. Schauff, reports were made by Pavel Kadochnikov, President, Center for Strategic Research Foundation, Alexey Mordashov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Severstal, Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, Sergey Storchak, Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, Ksenia Yudaeva, First Deputy Governor, Bank of Russia and others.

The panel session CIRCULAR ECONOMY: THE RUSSIAN MODEL AND FOREIGN EXPERIENCE was dedicated to the desire of most developed countries  to pursue development along a sustainable, ‘green’ path and encourage circular economic models.

Frank Schauff reported on the important issues is the waste management legislation.

The discussion was followed by the reports of Viktor Evtukhov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergei Ivanov, Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport, Murad Kerimov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Pontus Erntell, General Director, IKEA Russia and others.
