AEB Customs and Transport Committee members met with Andrey Belianinov

On August 6, 2013 Frank Schauff, AEB CEO, and the AEB Customs and Transport Committee members met with Andrey Belyaninov, Head of Federal Customs Service (FCS), in order to discuss new FCS requirements and changes in the TIR Carnet use for the customs transit in the Russian Federation, which was announced by the FCS letter from July the 4th, 2013.
The Federal Customs Service delivered its position on the issue and the logics of the proposed changes. The AEB addressed to the FCS its concerns and possible negative consequences of the changes that may come into effect from August 14, 2013. Both sides stressed their strong interest to avoid any negative scenarios related to this decision.
At the request of the AEB, the Federal Customs Service postponed the changes in TIR Carnet use for customs transit in Russia till 14th of September 2013.
