On October 11, 2017 the AEB celebrated the launch of the business season 2017-2018 by organizing the AEB Day in Saint-Petersburg.

The Day started in Corinthia Hotel St.Petersburg with the AEB Board meeting and several joint meetings of federal and regional Committees. The customs and transport meeting was attended by the delegation from North-Western Customs Directorate (SZTU) leaded by Andrey Vasiliev, Deputy Head of SZTU. The hotels and tourism meeting was devoted to the upcoming World Football Cup FIFA-2018 with guest speakers from Organizational Committee of FIFA – 2018 and MATCH Accommodation 2018. The HR and migration meeting  was focused on recent trends in migration and labor legislation and practice as well as on the specifics of migration regime during FIFA 2018.

In the evening, the plenary session of the AEB Day followed by the reception took place at the famous Singer House Atrium. On behalf of the AEB Thomas Staertzel, AEB Board Chairman, his Deputy Olga Bantsekina, Andreas Bitzi, Chairman of the AEB North-West Regional Committee and Oleg Zharko, Chairman of the AEB South Regional Committee, provided keynote speeches. Among the guest speakers, Dmitry Yalov, Deputy Chairman of the Leningrad Regional Government made the presentation of the regional economic policies, development strategies and investment support measures. Dmitry Pertovichev, Member of the Presidium of OPORA, talked about the development of small and medium entrepreneurship in Russia. The event was moderated by AEB CEO Frank Schauff.

The reception supported by DLA Piper as the gold sponsor and Arivist as the silver sponsor was conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere sounded by live music.
