AEB participated in VII Annual ICA (International Compliance Association) conference “COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT: looking into the future, preparing now”

On 28 February, the AEB held a session as part of the VII Annual ICA (International Compliance Association) conference “COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT: looking into the future, preparing now”. 
The session was organised by the AEB Compliance and Ethics Committee and chaired by its Chairman Anton Subbot, Partner, Baker McKenzie. 


The session was dedicated to the topic of “Internal audits and external investigations: triggers, participants and roles, timeframes, potential outcomes and implications”. Participants were Grigory Khoroshukhin, Regional compliance officer, Robert Bosch OOO, Irina Maurits, Legal & Compliance Lead Europe East, Syngenta LLC, Lenar Zayalov, Head of Compliance Control, Russia Division, Fortum Corporation, Maria Birenberg, Regional Ethics and Compliance Director, Russia and CIS, GSK Pharma. 

They shared experiences and discussed challenges in the process of building compliance systems.   

For the third year in a row, the AEB acts as an informational partner of the Conference which aims at discussing the unification of approaches of international organisations and government agencies to compliance regulation and supervision, and ranking the liability subject to presence or absence of compliance management systems. 

The AEB Compliance & Ethics Committee was established in 2015 to serve as a place where professionals from AEB members and different external stakeholders (incl. state bodies) can share and promote best practices via informational briefings, seminars, reports, regular compliance cases updates. Its key tasks are to assist AEB members i) to comply with their obligations under the international and local requirements in compliance area; ii) to facilitate, promote, monitor and aim to secure the implementation of the best compliance program and policies, iii) to foster the international understanding of applicable laws, including but not limited to laws addressing corruption, bribery, trade controls, and fair competition. Areas of the Committee’s interest include business ethics, regulatory issues, internal controls, governance and risk assessment and mitigation.
