Alexander Shokhin, President, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Chairman of the Presidium of the EAEC Business Council in 2018, opened the meeting with welcome remarks.  

The Roundtable  brought together policymakers, top-level business representatives and academia to discuss topical issues of economic cooperation in a wider European and Eurasian space. One of the key elements of the event was the presentation of the three Working Papers on harmonizing technical barriers to trade, foreign direct investment and transcontinental transport corridors and logistics by the IIASA leading scientists. This research was conducted by IIASA under the support of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).
