In his opening speech Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO, spoke about the AEB Green Initiative project aimed at protecting the interests of European business, promoting the best European practices and technologies and developing cooperation with Russian stakeholders and partners in the field of climate policy and energy efficiency of production facilities.

The moderator of the meeting was Pavel Rudyakov, Samsung Electronics Rus, Deputy Chairman of the AEB Committee of Home Appliance Manufacturers, who gave a presentation on the business opinion on the new concept of "extended" responsibility of manufacturers and importers of goods (ROP).

Albert Tomashpolsky, Nestlé Russia, spoke about regional barriers to reducing the volume of MSW sent for burial.

Alexei Makrushin, the key speaker of the meeting, spoke in detail about the main directions of the REO activities, and also answered the questions of the WG members about the possibility for the REO PPC to participate in the projects on creation of new recycling and sorting enterprises, in the projects on separate waste collection system in Russia, and about the details of implementation of the new Concept of extended responsibility of producers and importers.
