Annual AEB Pension Conference

17.12.2019

On December 17th, 2019, AEB hosted a traditional annual pension conference, organised by the AEB Insurance and Pensions Committee.

The theme this year, “Pension Reform: In Search of Stability and Clarity”, was to both inspire discussion around the major recent novelties in the pension reform, and to evaluate their implications for individuals and companies.
We thank Safmar Private Pension Fund, JSC for sponsoring the event this year.

The conference attracted a lot of interest from a wide audience of pension professionals. It featured presentations by top industry experts and advisers followed by interactive discussions. The speakers at the event were Alexander Zaretskiy, CEO, Sberbank PPF, JSC (presentation title: “Guaranteed Pension Plan: New Possibilities for the Market”); Arkady Nedbay, Director General, Alliance PPF, JSC (presentation title: “Pension System Reform: New Challenges for Companies”); Tadzio Schilling, Associate Director, Head, German Business Center, EY / Chairman, AEB Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Committee (presentation title: “The Global Pension Reform Agenda. (No) Time for Caution?”); and Karina Khudenko, Partner, HR Management Consulting, Individual Taxation, PwC, who gave a preliminary presentation of the findings from the PwC’s 2019 Survey of Corporate Pension Programmes (presentation title: “Corporate Pension Programmes in Russia: 2019 Survey Results”).

The speakers and participants have joined in the opinion, that while general interest from individuals and companies in the issue of pensions has been mounting over the past couple of years, both these market audiences currently have very limited understanding of the more recent pension instruments available, including the Guaranteed Pension Product, and would hugely benefit from a comprehensive explanation of such new tools, which would greatly enhance the quality of their pension strategy decisions.
