On September 8, 2023, the AEB has arranged one more Crisis Update webinar this time dedicated to new rules re economically significant organizations and blocking of foreign investors' property.

The experts focused on implications and risks for foreign investors under 470-FZ “On specifics of corporate governance in business companies which are economically significant organizations” and 422-FZ re blocking of property of foreign companies, state structures and citizens.

Andrey Zharskiy, AEB Finance and Investments Committee Chair, Partner, ALRUD Law Firm, opened and moderated the webinar. Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO, presented an update on recent AEB activities and described the legislative agenda for the second half of the year. 

Maxim Boulba, Partner, SEAMLESS Legal, and Elena Andrianova, Senior Associate, SEAMLESS Legal, talked about the 470-FZ of 04.08.2023 “On specifics of corporate governance in business companies which are economically significant organizations” and clarified the terms and scope of application of the law.

Vasilisa Strizh, Partner, Morgan Lewis, and Valentina Semenikhina, Associate, Morgan Lewis, clarified how the foreign shareholders could be affected by this law.

Lidia Gorshkova, Head of Group, Banking and Finance Practice, Pepeliaev Group, presented the changes to federal laws after February 1, 2024, and some provisions of the federal law 422.
