On December 9, 2022, the regular AEB webinar was dedicated to the issues of sanctions compliance and risk-management strategies. The invited speakers talked about the components of sanctions compliance, sanctions clauses in contracts, related recent legal practice. 

Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO, opened the event and presented the current AEB agenda. 

Elvira Khasanova, Attorney, Sanctions practice, Delcredere, presented the scope of sanctions audit and clarified what should be an action plan as a result of sanctions audit. 

Vladimir Efremov, Partner, Melling, Voitishkin and Partners (MVP), answered the question of whether the imposition of sanctions can be considered as force majeure. The expert clarified the difference between sanctions compliance and clause and export control clause. 

Polina Vodogreeva, Associate, Corporate and М&A, Lidings, talked about counterparty audit and liability for termination of a contract. 

Ilia Rachkov, Partner, Attorney, Nektorov, Saveliev & Partners (NSP), talked about sanctions in terms of Russian legislation and gave examples of recent court and arbitration practice.
