On September 1, 2026, AEB General Director Tadzio Schilling and Pavel Rudyakov, Chairman of the AEB Household Appliance Manufacturers Committee, took part in the annual meeting of the International Roundtable of Household Appliance Manufacturer Associations (IRHMA) in Berlin.
The meeting also brought together leaders of major household appliance and electronics industry associations from around the world, including APPLIA (European Union), CHEAA (China), KEA (South Korea), SADA (South Africa), JEMA (Japan), and AHAM (United States).
This year's discussions focused on sustainability and ecodesign in household appliances, digitalization, and the use of artificial intelligence. Participants discussed how smart technologies are shaping innovation, energy efficiency and industry practices amid evolving consumer expectations and regulatory requirements.
The AEB provided IRHMA members with an overview of key regulatory developments in Russia and the CIS. These included new digital marking requirements for electronics within product traceability systems, including Chestny Znak, E-Mark, Electronic Mark and other systems, as well as recent changes in product safety and energy-efficiency regulation and new legislative initiatives related to the use of artificial intelligence.
The annual IRHMA meeting brings together leading household appliance and electronics industry associations to exchange experience and discuss global regulatory and technological trends.
