Joint event of the AEB committees "Personal data 2024: in search of balance"

On November 7, the AEB Compliance and Ethics Committee, the AEB IT Telecom Committee, and the AEB Labor Law Sub-committee held a joint event "Personal data 2024: in search of balance".
The topic is especially relevant due to the fact that the volume of information is growing every day, and the protection of personal data is becoming one of the key tasks. Mishandling personal information can lead to serious consequences, including financial losses, loss of reputation and legal sanctions.
The experts discussed methods of working with personal data within a company, trends in Russian regulation of personal data, and practical difficulties in applying the law on personal data.
Anastasia Kondratenko, Senior Lawyer, Sapozhnikov & Partners, Natalia Polikarpova, Legal Director, PepsiCo, Andrey Slepov, Partner, ADVANT Beiten, Marina Yufa, Head of the Data Protection Legal Support Practice, Avito, spoke in detail about what is spreading of personal data, how to formalize consents, and how to raise the level of employee awareness of the rules for working with personal data.
Valeria Eistrach, Lawyer, Melling, Voytishkin & Partners, and Anastasia Petrova, Counsel, ALRUD Law Firm, presented an overview of trends in Russian regulation of personal data and the latest trends in the risk-oriented approach. Elena Agaeva, Partner, Head of Personal Data Protection Practice, EPAM Law Firm, spoke about the extraterritorial effect of the Federal Law "On Personal Data".
