Legal update in Real Estate webinar

On September 23 the AEB Real Estate Committee held its traditional open event dedicated to recent changes and current legal issues in the real estate field. 


The webinar was moderated by Tatjana Kovalenko, Chair of the AEB Real Estate Committee, Deputy Director General, Sendler & Company.

The leading legal experts from companies such as Rödl & Partner, ADVANT Beiten Russia and ALRUD Law Firm provided an overview of the main changes in legislation in recent months, including property registration aspects, share their assessment of recent court practice, as well as discuss other hottest topics of interest to businesses.

In particular, the main amendments to the legislation on state registration of immovable property, on extension of the list of grounds for state cadastral registration and/or state registration of rights, and on provision of information from the Unified State Register of Immovable Property were highlighted by Ilia Lokhanin, Lawyer of Real Estate, Building and Environmental Law Department, Rödl & Partners.

Ekaterina Sidenko, Associate, ADVANT Beiten Russia, gave an overview of new judicial practice development in the property of real estate on the example of selected legal cases involving land plot lease, protection zones and construction therein. Also, there was analyzed diverse practice on the so-called "anti-COVIDl" Law № 98-FZ, according to which the tenants related to the "most affected" sectors of the Russian economy, in accordance with the Russian Government Decree № 434 dated 03.04.2020, are granted a grace period on payment of rent.

Due to the increased interest in the topic Stanislav Veselov, Senior Associate, ALRUD Law Firm spoke on inseparable leasehold improvements and what can be attributed to this category.

Such events highlighting major changes in both legislation and practical aspects are extremely important for the industry and arouse great interest from companies.
