Ministry of Health extended the validity of medical certificates for foreign citizens to one year

23.02.2022

On February 22, 2022, the Ministry of Health extended the validity of medical certificates for foreign citizens to one year. We are proud to see that our efforts bear fruits, but we will of course keep lobbying for further liberalization in particular re full exemption of HQS, their family members, and minors below 18 years old. Meanwhile, for your convinience we have updated our 'Medical Checks Q&A' guidance (please click on the news title for more information).

The new Order of the Ministry of Health also introduced several changes to the medical examination procedure:
• ways and methods of examination have been expanded for diagnosing a number of diseases and conditions
• results of medical check-ups and preventive examinations will be taken into account for mandatory medical test purposes
• coronavirus infection has been removed from the list of diseases subject to medical examination.
• scope of tests required for foreigners aged between 6 and 18 will be reduced.

The updated medical examination procedure will come into force on March 1, 2022.
