OICA General Assembly meeting

On 19–21 October 2016, the AEB took part in the events organised in the frame of the Annual General Assembly meeting of the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) http://www.oica.net/.


The meeting took place in Moscow for the first time over almost a 100 years of its history and brought together national automobile manufacturers/distributors associations from more than 20 countries.

Dr. Frank Schauff, AEB CEO, and Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, President and General Director, Mazda Motor Rus, attended the roundtable discussion devoted to regulatory issues of the automated driving.

Special attention of the participants was paid to the situation on the world automobile markets. Status of the Russian market and government support measures were presented by Alexander Morozov, Deputy Minister of industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting of the General Assembly Yong-Geun KIM, (KAMA – Korea), the outgoing President of OICA, handed over his responsibilities to Matthias Wissmann, (VDA – Germany), the new elected President.

Dr. Thomas Staertzel, Chairman of the AEB Board, delivered a welcome speech to OICA members at the Gala-dinner which followed the GA meeting.

The AEB believes that this international event helped to bring the Russian automotive industry and market to a new higher level.
