On December 19, AEB North-Western Customs, Transport & Logistics Subcommittee together with AEB Moscow Customs & Transport Committee organized an open meeting on “Customs transit procedure: practical aspects of the procedure application by the Customs Union countries, perspectives of customs transit enforcement in North-western region".
 
Mr. Lyamkkin, First deputy of the North-Western Customs Service, briefed on latest developments regarding the application of TIR Convention by the customs bodies. He confirmed that the TIR Carnet is accepted only on the Russian –Finland boarder. The guarantee procedure of customs transit will be changed and will be common for all RF regions.
