PROTECTIONISM AND LOCALIZATION REQUIREMENTS IN RUSSIA

On 11 December 2020 the AEB North-Western and Southern Regional Committees held the webinar “PROTECTIONISM AND LOCALIZATION REQUIREMENTS IN RUSSIA”, co-organized jointly with the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.


Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO and Jaana Rekolainen, CEO of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce opened the event with welcome speech. Both stressed the significance of the role of the Russian Government in developing and improving terms of localization for foreign investors, as well importance of involving foreign companies in Russia in the process of drafting respective regulations and of participating in various platforms for a dialogue on the topic.

Distinguished experts from BEITEN BURKHRADT, EY, TEAM Group Consulting were invited to provide guidelines for the foreign participants of the webinar on localization and participation in state projects, main steps, milestones and challenges the companies might face while localizing in Russia. Also, such European companies as Ensto Group Procurement, OOO Peikko, and CLAAS that had already localized their production in Russia shared their practical experience.

The event was moderated by Anton Rassadin, the Chair of the AEB North-Western Regional Committee.
