Representatives of the AEB Board spoke at the meeting of the International Cooperation and Investment Council (ICCI)

On November 26, Johan Vanderplaetse, Chairman of the AEB Board; President, Russia and CIS, Schneider Electric; Co-Chairman of the International Council for Cooperation and Investment (ICCI), and Philippe Pegorier, member of the AEB Board , President of Alstom Transport Rus, participated in the meeting of the International Cooperation and Investment Council (ICCI), the topic of which was "Impact of the European green deal on the future of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the EU and Russia and the EAEU".
The conversation was moderated by Alexander Shokhin, President, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP); Chair, International Council for Cooperation and Investment (ICCI), who addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
In the course of the meeting the participants discussed the prospects of introducing a carbon tax and its impact on trade and economic cooperation between the EAEC and the EU.
AEB Board Chairman Johan Vanderplatse said that "green" technologies are becoming a new reality and those who will implement them will soon have a huge competitive advantage. Many European companies are bringing to the Russian market environmental technologies that are used on a global scale, which can be a great opportunity to establish mutually beneficial cooperation".
He also noted that "one of the promising directions for Russia may become export of "green" hydrogen, which is increasingly used in the EU".
The event included speeches by the H.E. Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation Markus Ederer, Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade, Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Andrey Slepnev, Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chairman of the International Council for Cooperation and Investment (ICCI), David Campbell, President, BP Russia, as well as representatives Nauka Innov, PJSC "LUKOIL", PJSC "Severstal", UC "RUSAL"and others.
