The Minister of Economy of Krasnodar Region Alexei Yurtayev and Regional Director of Corporate Affairs and Government Relations of Danone Russia JSC, Chairman of the AEB Southern Regional Committee Oleg Zharko adressed welcome speeches to the participants of the webinar.

Among the speakers were members of working group on establishment of Sustainable Development Council of Krasnodar region, represented by several major international companies - members of the AEB Southern Regional Committee: Danone, Philip Morris, Syngenta, Nestle, Coca-Cola. 

The experts shared the experience of their companies and discussed the following topics:

- rational use of energy resources;

- reducing emissions;

- creating environmentally friendly packaging;

- Ways to move to a carbon-neutral agriculture;

- waste management.

"Today, with the President's approval of five national goals that focus on making life better for every individual, each region faces the challenge of synchronizing its strategies with the national goals. Krasnodar Region went this way back in 2018, when its socio-economic development strategy through 2030 was approved. We paid a lot of attention to sustainable development. The focus is to improve the quality of life of the population. We understand that it is impossible to create comfortable living conditions if we deal only with economic or only social aspects. Of course, the environmental component directly affects the quality of life of the population," said Alexey Yurtayev.
