Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, met with representatives of the Association of European Businesses

On December 10, 2018, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin met with representatives of member companies of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) in the conference hall of the Lotte Hotel.


The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Board of AEB Johan Vanderplaetse.

Sergei Sobyanin delivered a speech in which he touched upon the current challenges facing the Moscow Government, as well as the opportunities offered to foreign investors.ROD_7408.jpg

In his speech, the mayor stressed the importance of taking measures to improve the situation regarding the development of the transport infrastructure of Moscow. In the future, the Moscow authorities are planning a full transition to high-tech electric public transport. In addition, the mayor of Moscow marked out the current state of carsharing: "I think that in the near future the largest system among European cities will be created." Commenting on the increase in parking fees, Sergei Sobyanin stressed that this measure is not a source of income, but serves as a regulator of the number of cars coming to the city center.

Speaking about plans for the next year, the mayor noted the need to solve transport and environmental problems, to increase the life expectancy of citizens, and to complete the strategic task: to build a city for the sake of people.

The meeting continued with a series of questions - answers, which were moderated by AEB CEO Frank Schauff and Chairman of the Board Johan Vanderplaetse. The mayor of Moscow was proposed to answer some questions provided by the AEB members regarding the implementation of joint projects by the Moscow Government and a number of foreign manufacturers.

Representatives of the AEB member companies were able to get comprehensive answers to their questions and concerns.
