Mr. Lyamkkin, First deputy of the North-Western Customs Service, briefed on latest developments regarding the application of TIR Convention by the customs bodies. He confirmed that the TIR Carnet is accepted only on the Russian –Finland boarder. The guarantee procedure of customs transit will be changed and will be common for all RF regions. 

Also, Mr. Mikhail Serebrennikov, the Head of Customs Transit Control Department of the North-Western Customs Administration (SZTU) briefed on application of on the mechanism and terms of participation in the experiment stipulated by the No. 336-r Decree of Russia's Federal Customs Service of 31 October 2013 entitled "On conducting an experiment to improve the transport of goods by road in accordance with the customs procedure of customs transit". 

Natalia Nosova, the Deputy Head of the Customs Payments Department of the NWCA (SZTU) cleared some issues concerning the alternative ways to ensure customs transit compliance (such as suretyship and a bank guarantee).
