The AEB IPRC Annual Conference on May 24, 2013

On 24 May 2013, the AEB Annual Conference “Intellectual Property Rights: recent trends, court practices, problems and solutions", organized by the Intellectual Property Committee, was held at the premises of the Delegation of the European Union to Russia. IP Annual Conference consistently attracts experts in Intellectual Property issues, creating opportunities to learn about most important issues on IPR protection through face-to-face interactions with representatives of state bodies, courts and leading legal companies and providing a valuable discussion platform. The speakers addressed a variety of topics ranging from the IP-related changes to the Civil Code, the IPR protection within the Customs Union and Single Economic Space and trends in patent and trademark case law. Special focus was paid to the case of “Soviet” brands in confectionary industry, alcohol and tobacco products as well as the FAS practices in unfair competition related to the use of the means of individualization. Additionally, expert analysis was provided on the economic aspects of the liberalization of parallel imports.
