On June 18, 2020, “Interfax-North-West” held an online press-conference with the representatives of the Association of European Businesses (North-Western Regional Committee), the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce (branch “North-West”) and ARPO “Business Russia”. 

The press-conference was devoted to the problems of Russian and European business in the North-Western Federal District (NWFD) in the context of the pandemic and the economic crisis, as well as to the challenges faced by systemic organizations and small and medium-sized businesses.

How is the European business in the NWFD is coping with the crisis? The first shock has passed, what are the plans for future? Which of the proposals of the business were heard, which support measures were provided and applied, what else needs to be done? Will investments in the Russian economy decline? How do business associations support their members, in particular, in the context of restrictive measures in connection with the pandemic? How crisis will affect production localization process? These and many other questions were discussed by the participants at the press-conference.

From the AEB, Andreas Bitzi, the Deputy Chair of the AEB North-Western Regional Committee, the Chair of the AEB Committee for Small and Medium Business, took part in the press-conference.
