On 12 January 2018, the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses held its XI Annual Press Conference "REVIEW 2017". 

The event took place at the Hotel Intercontinental Moscow Tverskaya. 

Main speakers at the Conference were Frank Schauff, AEB CEO, and Joerg Schreiber, AEB AMC Chairman (Mazda Motor Rus LLC). 

At the Press Conference, the sales results of the Russian automotive market in 2017 and prospects for 2018 were presented. 

In December 2017, sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by 14 % compared with December 2016 or by 20 348 sold units, and amounted to 166 013 cars, according to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC).

In 2017 new car and LCV sales increased by 11, 9% or 169 946 units in comparison with the previous year.

This year in January—December 1 595 737 cars were sold.

The AMC Chairman, Joerg Schreiber announced market results in 2017 and AMC forecast for 2018:  “December sales dynamics stayed in tune with the preceding months, by improving at a two-digit pace compared to the same month one year ago. Thus, despite a weak start in January and February, full year sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia improved by 11.9% year-on-year, to a level of 1.596 million units. The market has a long way to go return to its former strength, but a first and important step in the right direction has been made”.     

At the Press Conference the main issues on the AMC Agenda were featured. CEOs and representatives of major automotive companies participated in the Press Conference. The representatives of leading mass media were present and showed huge interest in the event. A series of individual interviews with the speakers and individual brands’ representatives were organised after the event.
