On December 12, 2024, the AEB Migration Committee held the XVII annual Migration Conference on the topic "Attraction of foreign workers under current conditions".
The conference was opened by Tadzio Schilling, AEB CEO, and moderated by Lyudmila Shiryaeva, Chairperson of the AEB Migration Committee.
Armen Oganesyan, Head of the Department of Permit and Visa Work and External Labor Migration of the Main Department for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, spoke about the prospects for adopting the draft Federal Law "On the Conditions of Entry (Exit) and Stay (Residence) in the Russian Federation of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons", the prospects for the HQS category, the role of Migration Centers in the migration process, and the process of processing documents in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
Maria Gromova, Deputy Director of the Department for Development of the Social Sphere and the Non-Commercial Organizations Sector, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, covered issues of residence permits for investors, attracting foreign workers from far abroad, and the prospects for the HQS category.
In addition, this year the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs was represented by the Adviser to the General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Passport and Visa Service" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the heads of the Center for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Department for Migration Issues of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region.
The conference participants discussed issues related to residence permits for investors, rules for hiring highly qualified specialists, changes in the rules for passing exams on knowledge of the Russian language, and many other migration issues important for employers in Russia.
