AEB Cocktail on the occasion of Maslenitsa "Farewell-to-winter Cocktail party"

The Association of European Businesses is pleased to invite you to its Farewell-to-winter Cocktail party.

The event will take place on 5 March 2019, from 19:00 to 22:00 (registration will start at 18:30), in the Muravievykh-Apostolov Mansion House (ul. Staraya Basmannaya 23/9, bld.1, Moscow).

Maslenitsa is a traditional eastern Slavic holiday that bids farewell to winter and welcomes the long-awaited spring. It lasts the entire week before Easter. For centuries, people decorated their houses, made pancakes, and visited friends, relatives, and neighbours during these days. The holiday week was also a time for enjoying street festivities, sleigh riding, and theater performances.
And we still celebrate this great holiday of spring, sun, and joy in Moscow today! The main ‘heroes’ of this holiday are pancakes, or bliny, to use the Russian word.

The Muravievykh - Apostolov Mansion House (“Усадьба Муравьевых-Апостолов”) is an old mansion build in 1803 upon the order of Captain Pavel Yakovlev. From 1815 until 1826, lived there the family of Senator Ivan Muraviev-Apostol, whose sons took part in the Decembrist uprising. The Mansion is now the home of the Decembrist Revolt Museum.

During the evening you will have the pleasure to:

• Taste delicious pancakes and “vychye pitia” from Catherine the Great times;
• Celebrate Maslenitsa with our folkloric ensemble;
• Visit the Decembrist Revolt Museum;
• Enjoy our master-classes on creating traditional Slavic rag doll and Russian straw decorations;
• Take part in our lottery with prizes from our partners: leading Moscow hotels, famous wine houses and others;

Fees are as follows:

Tickets for AEB Member companies: 5,500 RUR (+20% VAT) per person.

Non-member companies pay 6,500 RUR (+20% VAT) per person.
