FAKE NEWS AND INFORMATION WARS IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND GLOBAL COMPETITION OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS

The AEB PR & Communications Committee is pleased to invite you to its open event entitled ”Fake news and information wars in international relations and global competition of transnational corporations”, which will be held on October 17^th, 2019, at the AEB Conference Center (Butyrskiy Val, 68/70, bld.1, ground floor, office 13), from 10:00 to 12:30 (registration from 09:30).

The authenticity of information has become a challenging issue affecting businesses and society, both for printed and digital media. Through social networks and other digital channels false information spread within minutes may cause real impacts for millions of users.

The meeting ”Fake news and information wars in international relations and global competition of transnational corporations” is organized in order to raise awareness of the concerns and challenges for businesses in terms of detecting fake news and facing informational attacks. It will provide the platform for a discussion of the following issues:

· what is fake news and how to distinguish it;

· fake news as a tool for influencing the audience and broadcasting a given agenda;

· danger of fake news combined with viral technologies;

· information attacks: potential risks and impact on business reputation;

· tackling information attacks and ensuring the safety of top officials from information threats;

· information wars: technologies in the context of corporate crisis communications and case studies

The speakers to the meeting will be Andrey V. Manoylo, Professor, Doctor of Political Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Art Franczek, President, Director of Accounting Program, American Institute of Business and Economics (AIBE).

The event will be moderated by Marina Tatarskaya, Chairperson of the AEB PR & Communications Committee, PR Director, Ferrero Russia.

The working languages of the meeting are English and Russian. Interpretation will be provided.
