Online briefing for AEB Members on the statutory ELECTIONS campaign

Timelines of the statutory ELECTIONS campaign:

1. Committees chairpersons' elections:

• January 10, 2022 - call for candidates
• January 21, 2022 - deadline for candidates submission
• January 24 - February 4, 2022 - elections
• February 9, 2022 - Board approval of the elected Chairpersons

Who can be nominated: one nomination/one vote per one AEB member in the Committee (“Committee member”), assigned employee of a Committee member can self-nominate or nominate the assigned employee of another Committee member.

Who is eligible: assigned employee of a Committee member, one chairmanship per person, no chairmanship/deputy chairmanship in non-European business associations.

Who can vote: AEB fee must be paid at the time of voting, voting Committee member shall attend at least 50% of meetings during last 12 months (or pro rata since joining the AEB).

Term: please, take note of the changes made to the AEB Charter (April 2021) - starting from AGM 2022 the Chairperson, including current Chairpersons, can be elected for a maximum term of two (2) years and may be re-elected no more than twice (which means total three consecutive or non-consecutive terms). Current Chairpersons can be elected/re-elected in accordance with the same procedure.

Further procedures: the elected Chairpersons shall be approved by the Board and presented to AGM. The elected Chairpersons will appoint up to three Deputies and Committee members will vote to ratify this joint appointment. The Chairperson, the Deputy Chairpersons and the Chairpersons of the Sub-committees in the same Committee shall not represent the same legal entity – AEB Member.

2. Board elections:

• January 10, 2022 - call for candidates
• February 7, 2022 - deadline for candidates submission
• March 31, 2022 - elections & results announcement

Who can be nominated / is eligible: employee of a corporate AEB member, AEB citizen member, 51% holder of interest in a corporate AEB member. AEB fee shall be paid by the time of nomination.

Board composition restrictions: candidates nominated following the criteria above, the Board may include no more than two (2) AEB members being citizens of the same state and no more than one (1) representative/employee of each corporate member.

Who can vote: one vote per one AEB member. AEB fee must be paid at the time of voting.

3. Auditing Commission elections:

• January 10, 2022 - call for candidates
• February 7, 2022 - deadline for candidates submission
• March 31, 2022 - elections & results announcement

Who can be nominated: employee of a corporate AEB member, AEB citizen member. AEB fee shall be paid by the time of nomination.
