This day is an opportunity to think about how to change our habits and save the planet from global climate change.
AEB invites you to take part in the event "World Climate Day. Results of COP27", organized by the AEB Green Initiative platform.
The event is scheduled for December 8, 2022, from 10:00 to 12:00, fully online.
The annual conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP27, recently concluded in Egypt. The most discussed outcome of the conference was a step toward climate justice in the form of the launch of a new fund to help countries most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. It seems that the most popular words of COP27 were "loss and damage" - the harm caused by climate change.
For the first time, wealthy nations have agreed to send funds each year to repair the damage to poor countries that contributed the least to the climate crisis but were the hardest hit.
But some important issues were never resolved.
On World Climate Day, we invite you to discuss the following topics:
COP27 highlights and outcomes;
COP27 compared to COP26: what progress have we made?
Green finance: how much money does the world really need to finance the energy transition and achieve carbon neutrality?
Russian legislation and corporate sustainability/ESG orientation, latest news;
ESG Transparency Rating in 2022. Major Changes.
The event will be moderated by Ernesto Ferlenghi, Member of the AEB Board, Chairman of the Steering Group on the AEB Green Initiative.
Speakers at the event will be representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the Ministry of Energy of Russia, rating agency RAEX Europe, RSPP, Norilsk Nickel, Severstal, Gazprombank.
The working language of the event is Russian, interpretation will be provided upon request.
