Presentation of INSOR Report 21st Century Russia

The event will take place on March 4^th, 2010, at 9.30-11.00 (registration begins at 9:00) at the AEB premises, 2 floor, hall Fudziama. 

In the INSOR report, liberally-minded economists presented their vision of what Russia may or should look like in the future. By doing so, it sparked a salvo of comments from politicians and experts - ranging from cool skepticism to strong condemnation. The president/prime minister tandem is now faced with a choice between two ways of development, many experts believe.

The 66-page document proposes a variety of radical changes to the political system, without which, the authors declare with certainty, the country's economic modernization will never succeed.

Come to the AEB open event in order to make your own opinion and to discuss with one of the report’s authors, Evgeny Gontmakher. A graduate of the Moscow State University Lomonossov, Mr. Gontmakher is a professor of economics. He has worked in many Russian analytical research centers, such as the Institute of Economy, Centre of Social Research and Innovation, Higher School of Economics, Institute of Economy in Transition and others. He also occupied several posts in the Russian government: Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Social Protection; worked in the Ministry of Labour; Government Centre of Informational and Social Technologies. Mr. Gontmakher was Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council for Social Policy.

The working language of the presentation is Russian; English translation will be provided.

AEB members’ participation for assigned representatives is free of charge;

Fee for additional representatives of AEB members is 3,000 RUR (VAT not applicable);
