RUSSIAN ENERGY SECTOR AND EUROPEAN INVESTORS

The AEB is pleased to invite you to a Round Table, “Russian Energy Market and European Investors», organized by the AEB Energy Committee. The event will take place on October 28, 2009, Swissotel Krasnye Kholmy, hall Davos, 29^th floor, Kosmodamianskaya nab., 52, bld.6,  from 9:00 am to 14:30 pm (registration starts at 8:30 am) and will be followed by a reception.

Russia has been and is a key supplier of crude oil and natural gas to Europe, and will most likely maintain this role for the decades to come. The European investments into the power sector can scarcely be exaggerated.

The meeting organized in Salekhard by Prime-Minister Putin and attended by executives from more than a dozen global energy companies, including E.On, Royal Dutch Shell has once more shown the importance of foreign investments in the Russian energy sector.

The EU - Russia relations on energy matters should be based on the principles of an existing widely-supported international legal framework for energy trade, transit and investment, such as reciprocity and mutual delivery of commitments. Such relations must include a balanced and transparent approach to the security and diversity of supply and demand, with equal emphasis on both. Mutual access to investment opportunities in upstream and midstream assets, and downstream markets (regulated by respective legislations) should be welcomed.

The AEB Energy Committee is composed of the main European investors in the Russian Energy sector. This Round Table will give the audience a rare opportunity to get firsthand information on the Russian energy market and to compare theirs views, analysis and estimates with the vision of the Russian officials of the situation and the role of European investors.

Attendance Fees

The registration fee is for AEB members 5,900 RUB (plus 18% VAT)
