IV Northern Dimension Forum will take place at Sokos Hotel Olympia Garden, St. Petersburg on April 4 2013.
The Forum will be co-organized by the Northern Dimension Business Council and the Association of European Businesses.
On April 4 2013 St. Petersburg will host the Fourth Northern Dimension Forum, primarily aimed at fostering cooperation between business, authorities and society involved in strategic decision making concerning the development of the regions falling within the scope of the Northern Dimension Policy.
This year’s Forum will be devoted to important issues associated with deepening trade and economic cooperation and moving from predominantly trade activity to investment in various sectors of the national economies within the Northern Dimension. As is traditional, special attention will be paid to the regions of the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation and neighbouring European regions. Key topics for the plenary sessions and round-table discussions will include Electric Power and Energy Saving, Ecology and Environmental Protection, Vocational Education and Training, Transport, Logistics and Customs Policy, Health and Pharmaceuticals as well as Wood Processing Industry.
Representatives from Russian and European ministries, agencies, and regional administrations as well as national and foreign business circles have been invited to participate in the Forum. Among them are
Mr. Nikolay Vinnichenko, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation President to the North-Western Federal District
Mr. Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission
Mr. Alexey Likhachev, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation
Mr. Fernando Valenzuela, Head of EU Delegation to Russia
The Forum is expected to attract over 250 participants.
The Northern Dimension Business Council is co-chaired by Mr. Alexey Mordashov, CEO of OAO Severstal and Mr. Tapio Kuula, President and CEO of Fortum Corporation.
