Less than 9,000 people infected with coronavirus have been identified in Russia for the fifth day in a row

Over the past 24 hours, 8,672 new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Russia. This is 4.56% more than the day before (8,294). For the fifth day in a row, the number of those infected was less than 9,000. The total number of those infected reached 4,614,834.

Leading regions in the number of new cases: Moscow - 2,024 (1,041,799 since the start of the pandemic); St. Petersburg - 695 (400,286); Moscow Oblast - 567 (236,877); Nizhny Novgorod Oblast - 243 (109,534); Rostov region - 239 (82,761). During the day 365 people died of COVID-19, which is 2.41% less than the day before (374). The total number of fatalities since the start of the pandemic has risen to 101,845. 9,558 people recovered, for a total of 4,239,038. The leading regions in terms of the number of deaths per day were: Moscow - 53 (17,082 since the pandemic began); St. Petersburg - 33 (12,521); Rostov region - 26 (3,745); Krasnoyarsk region - 12 (3,246); Samara region - 12 (1178). This week, Rospotrebnadzor said that the incidence of coronavirus in six regions exceeds the national average. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that "the virus has not receded" and urged Rospotrebnadzor, scientists and doctors to develop additional measures to protect Russians by Friday, April 9.
